8.9.2025 | According to a survey by the Finnish Road Safety Council (Liikenneturva), one in four Finns do not feel that they know what to do at the scene of an accident. The instructions provided by an ERC operator can save lives in an accident situation.

15.4.2026 | You can now find instructions on what to do in the event of an air hazard in the 112 Suomi app. Emergency warnings will also be transmitted to the app based on the phone’s location data.

31.7.2025 | In recent weeks, there has been a significantly higher number of drownings and serious near-miss incidents at public beaches than usual. Recognizing the situation and calling for help quickly is critical when someone ends up in the water. A drowning person is rarely able to call for help, which highlights the importance of others in noticing the emergency.

1.4.2026 | In Finland, there are two ways to quickly warn people, for example about an imminent danger from the air: Emergency warning and alarm signal. The 112 Suomi mobile app is already one of the channels for communicating emergency warnings.

4.8.2025 | It’s important to talk with children and young people about the importance of making an emergency call. For example, physical violence is always a crime, even if it’s referred to as school bullying. An ongoing violent situation is always a reason to call the emergency number 112.

30.1.2026 | During adolescence, risk taking and peer pressure are often heightened, and sometimes situations can escalate into danger. The aim of the 112 Day campaign is to strengthen young men’s ability to recognize emergencies and encourage them to act.
