Web accessibility means that as many different people as possible can use digital services as easily as possible. Web accessibility means that the differences and diversity among people are taken into account when digital services are planned and implemented.

The background is the European Union's Web Accessibility Directive. The law on the provision of digital services obliges the public sector and some of the organizations in the private and third sector to comply with the accessibility requirements.
