eCall offers safety in situations where the driver cannot call for help
There has recently been discussion in the news about automatic emergency call systems in vehicles. The Europe-wide eCall connects directly to the nearest emergency response centre and sends information directly to the centre's information system.
The missing children hotline improves safety across the EU
In the event that an underage child becomes missing, it is important to inform the responsible authorities quickly. For this purpose, assistance is available from a common European hotline. In Finland, the hotline can be used for sharing tips about missing children. In emergencies, the number to call is 112.
Emergency response centre operator awarded for outstanding performance
The European Emergency Number Association EENA awarded a Finnish emergency response centre operator for outstanding work in assisting a person that had fallen through the ice in the wilderness. Finland’s emergency response centres are built around the professionalism of ERC operators and cooperation between authorities, and the case demonstrates the effectiveness of this approach.
Smart devices and automatic emergency calls
New technology has been created to assist in situations where a person needs help but cannot summon it themselves. Dialogue between the authorities involved in emergency response centre operations as well as futher technical development is required to take advantage of the technology.
Nu kan du göra reseanmälan i 112 Suomi-appen
Mobilappen 112 Suomi utökar sitt serviceutbud den 17 augusti. I appen kan du nu också göra en reseanmälan.
112 Suomi är Nödcentralsverkets mobilapp som har utvecklats i samarbete med olika säkerhetsaktörer och myndigheter. Tack vare det stora antalet användare har den utvecklats till en omfattande servicehelhet för finländarnas säkerhet.
I augusti införs utrikesministeriets tjänst för reseanmälan i appen. Finländare som gjort en reseanmälan kan nås i olika nöd- eller krissituationer utomlands. Du kan också göra en reseanmälan på webbplatsen https://reseanmalan.fi.
Enligt chefen för utrikesministeriets enhet för konsulära ärenden Outi Saarikoski lönar det sig att göra en reseanmälan i synnerhet om du reser till ett riskområde.
– Men en reseanmälan kan du meddela utrikesministeriet uppgifter om din utlandsresa eller flyttning utomlands och dina kontaktuppgifter under resan. Till dem som gjort en reseanmälan kan sedan utrikesministeriet sända information om säkerhetsläget i landet och nå dem i en nödsituation. Vi rekommenderar att du gör en reseanmälan för alla utlandsresor, särskilt om du reser till ett riskområde. Det lönar sig också att registrera sig i tjänsten reseanmälan. Då kan du vid behov göra ändringar i din reseanmälan också efter att den skickats in.
Appen 112 Suomi har redan nästan 2 miljoner användare.
– Det är viktigt att finländarna hittar den service de behöver när hjälpbehovet överraskar. Vi är nöjda att appen nu också betjänar finländare som reser utomlands. Appen har för närvarande nästan 2 miljoner aktiva användare och vi hoppas att fler ska komma ihåg att använda den i nödsituationer, säger Marko Nieminen, chef för den operativa avdelningen vid Nödcentralsverket.
Utrikesministeriet och Nödcentralsverket rekommenderar att alla laddar ner appen 112 Suomi med tanke på nödsituationer.
Blanketten för reseanmälan finns i appen på fliken Tjänster under Nödläge eller problem utomlands / Reseanmälan till utrikesministeriet och även under Övriga tjänster / Reseanmälan till utrikesministeriet. Den nya tjänsten i appen 112 Suomi uppdateras dynamiskt från och med den 17 augusti och kräver att appen startas om.
