9.12.2025 | According to the Reputation&Trust study, the reputation of the Emergency Response Centre Agency is ranked fourth among public administration agencies. The public felt that the Agency performed best in the responsibility and products and services dimensions.

5.1.2026 | Paula has been working for the Emergency Response Centre Agency for ten years: first as a communications specialist for nine years and then as a wellbeing at work specialist from the start of 2024. By looking after staff wellbeing, she feels that she is doing meaningful work and is able to indirectly contribute to the safety of Finland as a whole.

13.3.2025 | The Emergency Response Centre Agency’s financial statements for 2024 are complete. The service level of emergency response centre (ERC) operations remained good, even though we were not able to meet all our performance targets. During 2024, absences due to illness decreased and the work load was evened out. Customer confidence and satisfaction in ERC operations remained high.

3.4.2025 | Taito Vainio started his second five-year term as the Director General of the Emergency Response Centre Agency in early March. In the coming years, his work will be characterised by the challenges arising from the changes in the operating environment.

9.6.2024 | The Emergency Response Centre Administration is participating in an EU project that improves the visibility of the missing children help system. A key theme of the project is teaching children how to correctly use the emergency number.

15.3.2024 | The Emergency Response Centre Agency’s financial statements for 2023 are complete. Last year, the number of employee absences due to illness fell, new ERC operators were recruited, and employee satisfaction increased.

1.8.2024 | The guidelines for handling tasks in the Emergency Response Centre Agency’s emergency medical services were revised at the end of November 2023. The change is reflected in the number of tasks assigned to emergency medical care and in the priority distribution.

25.9.2023 | In the event that an underage child becomes missing, it is important to inform the responsible authorities quickly. For this purpose, assistance is available from a common European hotline. In Finland, the hotline can be used for sharing tips about missing children. In emergencies, the number to call is 112.

18.9.2023 | Emergency calls using real-time text (RTT) will be made available by the end of 2025. The new option for emergency calls will especially help people with hearing or speech impairments. The Emergency Response Centre Administration has already taken the first steps in the development of RTT.
